Trout fishing

©SA TourismProbably the most dedicated trout area is Dullstroom in Mpumalanga, with the Drakensberg a close second, but there are good trout streams in the Western Cape, near Cape Town, and some well stocked dams in Gauteng and Limpopo Province. The streams of Lesotho, too, have some good stocks of trout. Surprisingly, Malawi has some excellent trout fishing in the higher lying areas, namely Zomba and Nyika Plateau, and the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe has long been a popular trout fishing destination – although it’s probably been somewhat neglected recently.
